A successful business strategy is one that factors behavioural science. Not much can be achieved if the “human element” is disregarded.

Biases creep into all aspects of a business, for instance:

  • Data, presented in different contexts, can become either more meaningful or irrelevant. Those who interpret it differently, may arrive at a completely different decision.
  • In meetings, an opinion expressed by the first person asked, or a “senior,”  is likely to make others “toe-the-line.” As a result, the purpose of getting divergent views may be defeated.
  • Committing oneself to action, exposes one to blame, while inaction can, lead to regret. Acts of Commission are punished more severely than Acts of Omission.
  • Performance Appraisals and Hiring can easily be affected by the Recency Bias.

Sales Growth interventions can be designed to “nudge” stakeholders into taking the desired actions.
