Sandeep Ohri - That Strategy Guy

Hi, I’m Sandeep, better known as That Strategy Guy.

I’ve spent 36 years in business trying to understand one deceptively simple question:

Why do people do what they do?

In business. In selling. In leadership. In decision-making. And sometimes, in life.

I’ve sold everything from ₹25 recharge packs to defence projects worth thousands of crores.

I’ve built businesses from scratch. Shut some down. Led teams across 17 cities in India. Built partnerships across six countries.

And somewhere along the way, I discovered Behavioural Science.

Suddenly, I had a language for much of what I had spent years observing.

Why customers say YES.
Why they say NO.
Why they SAY yes… and then do nothing.
Why the best product doesn’t always win.
And why the best argument doesn’t always convince.

Behavioural Science didn’t replace what I had learnt in business.

It helped me understand it.

Today, I spend much of my time writing, teaching, speaking and podcasting about these ideas — decoding complex concepts and making them simpler, clearer and more usable.

I don’t have all the answers, but I ask better questions that help others find theirs.

  • Built and exited businesses across Enterprise IT, Media, Broadcast, Homeland Security, Geospatial Solutions and Retail Packaging
  • Co-founded April Broadcast, creators of India’s first Facebook-approved Live Streaming Software
  • Headed business operations at Rolta India Ltd. for over a decade, managing a 300+ member team across Defence, GIS, Smart Cities and Digital Transformation initiatives
  • Ran global operations for a Media Tech company and built channel networks across China, Korea, USA, MENA and Africa
