Behavioural Science WhatsApp Group
When I asked my contacts whether they would like me to start a Behavioural Science group on WhatsApp, I did NOT expect +450 to show their interest!

First up, a few things..
The Group is an Admin only Group – run by me as the Admin (no points for guessing!)
The posts will be about the application of BeSci (as it is sometimes referred to). I share real-world examples of how it is being used. Screenshots of relevant excerpts, links to articles & videos, diagrammatic explanations, & just plain text posts too.
BeSci is a topic that needs to be chewed nicely & digested slowly to really savour it well, and so there are just 2-3 posts a week, a little after 7pm India time.
Read on for an interesting bit of background on how it started on 15th November 2022..
I received a suggestion of opening up the Group for a “discussion” at a defined hour on a defined day(s) to facilitate a higher degree of interaction.
At some later stage, I decided we could take a poll where members could state their preference.
But let me warn you about Polls … and our own behavior!
Out of the +1,400 members across 5 of The Curated News Groups that I sent out the initial question to, just 146 expressed their opinion, & 87 (that’s a 59% majority) wanted an Admin-only Group.
But when I circulated the Group link, +450 joined in – in the first 24 hours!!
Reminds me of David Ogilvy‘s quote…
“People don’t think how they feel,
They don’t say what they do, and
Don’t do what they say!”
The Good News?
We are now aware of such behavior!
And we should remember that this happens to our customers & our audiences too!
